It's been a week since Pimblett's unanimous decision loss to Gaethje in their interim lightweight title fight, and he's already looking ahead. With a quick recovery from the physical damage sustained in the bout, Pimblett is determined to get back in the octagon as soon as possible.
"I'm feeling good, considering the circumstances. My face has healed remarkably well, except for the lingering issue with my eyes. Those fingernail scratches are a reminder of the fight, but I'm not letting it slow me down. I've had a great week to relax and recharge," he shared in a recent YouTube video.
Pimblett plans to resume training this week and is eager to apply the lessons learned from his fight with Gaethje. While he acknowledges his frustration with certain aspects of the fight, he remains focused on the future.
"I know I have a lot to improve on, and I'm committed to coming back stronger. One of my goals is to earn a rematch with Gaethje. I understand that it might be a long shot given his status in the sport, but there's a score to settle. I want to face the best version of Gaethje again and prove myself."
At 31, Pimblett believes he has the opportunity to evolve and showcase his growth in a potential rematch. He respects Gaethje's skills and hopes to see him secure the undisputed title, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rematch.
"I believe in my abilities, and I know there are aspects of that fight that I want to rectify. I'm looking forward to the challenge and the chance to prove myself once more."
