Get ready for an exciting update on the highly anticipated Lakeshore Lodge! The construction is progressing, and we've got an exclusive ground-level view of the latest developments. But here's where it gets controversial... some might argue that the real magic happens behind the scenes, and we're about to take you on a journey to uncover the secrets of this upcoming Disney resort.
Lakeshore Lodge, a Disney Vacation Club resort, is taking shape right before our eyes. Nestled next to Fort Wilderness Resort, this nature-inspired haven is set to open its doors in 2027. Imagine a place where the beauty of nature meets the magic of Disney, and you've got Lakeshore Lodge!
Our reporter recently paid a visit, and the most notable progress was witnessed in the construction of the iconic A-frame cabins. These cabins, situated along Clementine Beach, have undergone a remarkable transformation. Crews were hard at work, adding intricate framing and bringing these structures to life.
One of the most striking features, the angular overhangs that mimic the porte cochere, has now been topped with roofs. Previously just a framework, these overhangs now add a sense of grandeur and protection to the cabins.
The resort wing, visible from Fort Wilderness, is looking more and more complete each day. Progress on sheathing, overhang frames, and roofing is evident, and the concrete reinforcement continues to strengthen the angular entrance porte cochere. This extended covered area will provide a seamless arrival and departure experience for guests.
The A-frame cabins closest to the main lodge structure are fully roofed, and some even showcase glass windows, offering a glimpse of the luxurious interiors to come. The resort wing visible from Fort Wilderness has all its balconies and windows installed, and the overhangs now have their roofs, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
As we explore further, we notice that the concrete work on this wing is almost complete. The scaffolding forms the shape of a corner tower, with a sizable roof overhang, adding a touch of grandeur. These crews were busy installing stairways, ensuring easy access to the various levels of the resort.
The Clementine Beach cabins have received additional wood and steel framework, and we anticipate the roofing process to begin soon. The lakeside wing, which was previously covered in scaffolding, is now being prepared for concrete sheathing, and almost all its balconies and windows are in place.
The Bay Lake barge, which once held a crane, has been moved towards the center of the building and now houses a cherrypicker. This area seems to be transforming into a patio for a restaurant or lounge, offering breathtaking views of Bay Lake.
Speaking of views, the tiered overhangs on the roof could potentially be the perfect spot for another restaurant or lounge, providing guests with floor-to-ceiling window vistas of the lake.
The A-frame cabins, arranged in rows on either side of the main resort, have been enhanced with additional supports and wood details over the past few weeks. And now, the moment we've all been waiting for - they've finally received their roofs!
Estimates suggest there might be at least 20 of these charming cabins spread across the resort, providing guests with a unique and immersive experience.
As we conclude our tour, we leave you with a breathtaking shot of the lodge and cabins as seen from Bay Lake. Are you as excited as we are to witness the progress of Lakeshore Lodge? Share your thoughts and join the conversation on social media!
